Unlike many artists today, JC didn't start his
musical career by singing around the house at a young age.
In fact it wasn't until he was 12 that he realized he liked to sing!
It wasn't until a friend bet him $20 to enter a talent competition
w/a few other friends (and won) that he found his new love.
It was in the early 1990s when JC's mom spotted an audition ad for
the then popular Mickey Mouse Club. Karen gave JC the choice between
going to school or going to the audition. Being one of sound mind, JC
chose the audition. JC was cast and his career would take off, as fellow
castmates included the likes of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and
fellow NSync member Justin Timberlake.
After MMC's demise in 1994 Justin and JC remained in close contact.
Eventually Chris Kirkpatrick, a friend of JC's who worked at Universal Studios,
dabbled in the idea of starting a musical group.
Chris ran this idea by his young friend Justin Timberlake
who in turn went to his MMC pal JC Chasez.
One night while the three friends were out they ran into Joey Fatone,
who knew Jc from when his family first moved to Orlando, and also knew Chris.
Almost complete, they knew they needed something to add a rounder sound.
So, Justin used his connections and called his vocal coach for
suggestions and was referred James Bass(aka Lance).
The group had finally come together and NSync was formed.
4 (American) NSync Albums and successful tours later,
NSync has decided to take a break.
Not being one to waste idle time, Jc decided to dabble in the studio.
One day while playing around in the studio with good friend, Dallas Austin,
JC laid down the track for "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)". Which eventually came
to be featured on the Drumline (the motion picture) soundtrack.
Taking the success of BMU as his cue, JC decided to release
his first solo effort, Schizophrenic in 2004. As well as his first solo (club) tour.
JC eventually realized that being solo has it's ups and downs.
Though Schizophrenic was critically acclaimed, JC has yet to achieve the
commercial success with Schizophrenic as he had with NSync.
However, JC continues to please his fans and his love of music.
And is currently working on his second solo effort.
